Cold Fusion or The Sad Unicorn Experiment, 2013

installation/melting painting

Realized as part of the group exhibition "Halcyon Days" at Martin Luther Church, Linz

with Teresa Fellinger, Evalie Wagner and Herwig Kerschner

The idea for this artwork was born out of a banal but pleasurable aesthetic daily moment, specifically the play of colors when washing colored brushes in a white sink, and the desire not to only hold, or to document that impression, but rather to make it noticeable, to make the lustful understandable.

A random phenomenon is reconstructed and, due to the choice of material, remains just as volatile as the original moment itself, just as ephemeral as the Halcyon Days. Highly diluted acrylic colors were been frozen in used tetra packs.
